Carbon monoxide detectors

The City of Chicago, Department of Buildings will issue a violation notice if  you have not installed a carbon monoxide detector. The owner of the building must install detectors where required and provide tenants with written information regarding testing and maintenance. The end of Daylight Savings Time on November 2nd is an ideal time to replace smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
