Why does the City of Chicago keep sending me a notice when I do not own this property?

This is due to the fact that your name appeared as a result of a title search. Unfortunately you will need to prove that the property is no longer yours. Simply informing the court that you do not own the property is not sufficient. Most likely, you will need to file a motion to set aside the default to resolve the case in a hearing.  Bradford Miller Law can help you with this.

Bradford Miller Law, located in downtown Chicago has been assisting clients with Building Code Violation issues for several years. Give us a call so we can help you correct this problem.

Can I have another hearing if I was found previously liable?

No, this is a final order you cannot have another hearing. Once a final order is entered, the department of Administrative Hearings no longer has jurisdiction (the legal authority) to take any further action. Your case can be appealed to the Circuit Court of Cook county. Appeals must be filed within 35 days of the final order. We may be able to help you with this process. Contact our office for a free 15-minute consultation to see if an appeal is your best option.
